Virtual and Remote Labs

Virtual and Remote Labs

With the increased cost of lab supplies, potential dangers, space constraints, and geographical barriers, virtual and remote labs are becoming more popular with science educators. Virtual labs typically mimic an actual lab experience, feeding participants data and allowing for minimal interaction. Simulations often allow students control over what is being done in the experiment. Both types can be done in an online environment.
