In the short documentary project Florence James’ Island (working title), we began with the goal of recording on video the Penelakut Elder, Florence James, as she told traditional stories that emerge out of the place that is her traditional territory.  In the process of recording the stories, we used innovative technologies like the Multirotor Aircraft (see Robotics and 3D Printing) to gather footage of the area from a perspective that would not be possible otherwise.

Project Leads: Professors Jay Ruzesky and Sally Carpentier

Research Assistant: MaryDawn MacWatt
