Films, a collaborative hands-on art project, tree-planting demo, and a tour of VIU’s Garry Oak Restoration project are all part of this FREE collaborative event hosted by the City of Nanaimo, Regional District of Nanaimo, Nanaimo Art Gallery, and VIU.
Stop by for some or all events, grab a snack from Lickity Drippity or Tasty Street and connect with sustainability action through art and community.

- Help build a community art piece! The folks from Nanaimo Gallery will entice your inner artist to add a piece to this collaborative project.

Screening of the Ghibli favourite, My Neighbour Totoro. A great movie to spark conversation about connecting with the world around us.

Tour of VIU’s Garry Oak Restoration project. Join Dr. Caroline Josefsson and find out more about this project that aims to increase biodiversity at VIU, and engages students and employees in climate action. Meet in front of the theatre.
7:00pm – 9:00pm
Be inspired by a variety of short films on climate action.

Getting Here
You’re encouraged to use active transportation to get here. Walking, cycling, or taking the bus are some great options. Even driving part way and then walking to the venue works!
