The Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Learning is excited to welcome Meara Kimball to our team in the role of Learning Technology Support Specialist.

Meara earned her BSc in Computer Science and Mathematics at UVic after beginning her educational journey in Nanaimo, right here at VIU. She has developed considerable experience of both technology and front-line customer support in several libraries, including our very own, where she worked in a variety of positions, including in the learning commons.

Her background has provided her with excellent experience working with faculty and students from across the disciplines here at VIU. She has supported them with a range of topics, ranging from research to thorny technological issues.

Meara has a particular interest in technology, and a broader interest in education. In the past, this broader interest has seen her working with students of all ages, as young as grade two.

She will be with us in the Centre full-time and is excited to be able to focus even more on her passion at the institution where she started her degree, and to ensure that the experiences of our current and future students are as positive as her own were.
