We invite all new VIU teaching faculty and newly appointed sessional instructors to join us on Friday, January 9 for VIU’s Mid-Year New Faculty Orientation. Breakfast and lunch are included.
The purpose of the Orientation, sponsored by the Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Teaching, is to introduce you to teaching and learning resources for designing learning experiences for your students, engage you in conversations on best practices, and to provide you with an opportunity to work with colleagues who are on a path similar to yours.

This event is open to anyone interested, but is designed specifically for instructors with less than two years’ experience at VIU. This Orientation day may also appeal to faculty who were unable to attend the August New Faculty Orientation day, those who have been hired since August or those faculty who Chairs know will be hired later this term or early in January.
Breakfast begins at 8:30 am on Friday, January 9, 2015 in Building 305, Meeting Room 507. Program begins at 9:00 am and ends at 1:00 pm.
An optional VIULearn (D2L) bootcamp will be offered to participants beginning at 1:30 pm until 3 p.m.
