October 13, 2021 @ 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm
For over a year you have been adapting your teaching style in order to continue meeting the learning needs of your students in the face of shifting delivery modes. In this three-part series (sign up for one or all of the sessions!), you will have the opportunity to build on the best of these adaptations and find the teaching flow that works best for you. Each session will also include a basket of tools you can use to polish different elements of your course. This series will appeal to instructors teaching face to face, fully online or somewhere in between.
Session 3: Make Learning Meaningful with Streamlined Assessments
How will we know when students have learned what we want to them to learn? How can we help them progress toward our learning goals throughout the semester? How can we make sure that the time spent on assessments is worthwhile? Careful consideration of the timing, type of assessments and kinds of feedback can make learning more meaningful and more effective. In this session, we will explore strategies and tools you can use to make sure your assessments flow naturally from your course content and course goals.
