Description of Session
In this panel presentation several e-portfolios will be presented as examples of how assessment practices are shifting with the use of technology in a variety of contexts across the learning spectrum – secondary and post-secondary classrooms.
Laura Suski will describe how e-portfolios (in VIULearn (D2L) and other platforms) are used in the capstone course of the Global Studies program. Kevin Mazutinec will use student examples to illustrate how e-Portfolios and VIULearn (D2L) presentations are implemented in 1st year Graphic Design.
Jan Unwin will discuss the role e-portfolios may play in the new BC Graduation Plan and the assessment of core competencies. Shannon Hagen will describe a pilot project in school district 72 (Campbell River) where a customized platform was created to securely create, host and share e-portfolios for a student’s high school career.
