Summer 2022

I’m happy to announce that CYC 391 is currently scheduled to run in August of 2022 if public health restrictions allow sharing of tents in August. This decision will be confirmed in May. Refunds will be available if the course is cancelled due to public health orders.

The course is open to anyone interested with permission of the instructor, including people who are not currently enrolled at VIU. Anyone who is interested in the course should contact stephen.javorski@viu.ca to discuss the course and registration process.

This summer, there will be some asynchronous online work to be completwd over the first 2 weeks of August, followed by a 12 day canoe expedition on Vancouver Island starting August 15. Course participants should plan to be in the field from August 15-29 (just in case we get weather delayed coming off the lake).

Looking forward to exploring the wilderness this summer!

Summer 2021

Unfortunately, we have made the decision to cancel CYC 391 for summer 2021. The course has been scheduled for August of 2022, and I am hopeful that it will be safe to return to the field by that time. If you are interested in this course, please contact stephen.javorski@viu.ca.

Summer 2020

Unfortunately, we have made the decision to cancel the summer 2020 offering of CYC 391 due to COVID-19. We are planning to return to the field in Summer 2021 if it is safe to do so. If you have questions about CYC 391, please contact stephen.javorski@viu.ca
