H355H Presentations

Student Presentations

Each student will present a 8 – 10  minute presentation to the class based on the research that they have conducted on their assigned soldier.  This is not a discussion of the soldier himself, and you are not to retell the story of that soldier.  This is to be a presentation of your research findings and methodology concerning that particular soldier.

In your presentation there are several things that you MUST include:

  1. What was the most important or fascinating detail that you uncovered in your research concerning your soldier?  Clearly this goes beyond simply listing an entry point on a document, but rather, what did you uncover when you followed that entry point? It needs to be a significant detail that adds to the richness of the story of that soldier.
  2. How did you find that detail?  What was the research path that led you to discover it?
  3. In what manner (how, why) does it add to our understanding of that soldier?

Remember, this is a discussion of your research, not a retelling of the soldier’s story.  The detail must be significant in furthering our understanding of his life ( ie not just his date of death, or what battalion he was in, etc.).

Please note that attendance is compulsory for these presentations.  This is a class presentation, and everyone needs to be supporting their fellow classmates.
