Student Presentations
Each student will present a 8 – 10 minute presentation to the class based on the research that they have conducted on their assigned soldier. This is not a discussion of the soldier himself, and you are not to retell the story of that soldier. This is to be a presentation of your research findings and methodology concerning that particular soldier.
In your presentation there are several things that you MUST include:
- What was the most important or fascinating detail that you uncovered in your research concerning your soldier? Clearly this goes beyond simply listing an entry point on a document, but rather, what did you uncover when you followed that entry point? It needs to be a significant detail that adds to the richness of the story of that soldier.
- How did you find that detail? What was the research path that led you to discover it?
- In what manner (how, why) does it add to our understanding of that soldier?
Remember, this is a discussion of your research, not a retelling of the soldier’s story. The detail must be significant in furthering our understanding of his life ( ie not just his date of death, or what battalion he was in, etc.).
Please note that attendance is compulsory for these presentations. This is a class presentation, and everyone needs to be supporting their fellow classmates.
