This speaks to the images you pull from the pedagogical narration by Shannon McDaniel called&nbsp;<em class=\"\"><strong>&#8220;The Educator I Once Was&#8221;<\/strong><\/em> (Government of British Columbia, 2019, p. 91).&nbsp;&nbsp;With this, my heart is open to new ideas, and I am, hopefully, forever willing to grow and be teachable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-615\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-1536x2048.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/IMG_1265-scaled.jpeg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Ash&#8217;s encouragement that I may already know who I am responsible for brings joy to my heart. Her writing sings a song of welcome and invitation. I am also responsible for living well so others may live well too.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br>How might I respond to this call to be responsible?&nbsp;<\/strong>Here is the how and why of it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To uphold, live and breathe our Framework&#8217;s vision: <strong>&#8220;Respectfully living and learning together&#8221;<\/strong> (Government of British Columbia, 2019, p. 42).<\/li><li>To love and be loved (<strong>human and non human<\/strong>).<\/li><li>To feel welcome and welcome others, much like Ash has done above.<\/li><li>To challenge and critically reflect on the thoughts and stories that have led me to where I am today. &#8220;To be and to become an experienced teacher is not merely the accumulation of strategies and knowledge, but rather it calls for one to confront one&#8217;s previous understanding&#8221; (Pelech &amp; Skuce, 2020).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>I will share that I appreciate Ash&#8217;s way of bringing her learning visible; It opens up an opportunity for me to do the same.&nbsp;<strong>I will close with this question: is it possible that we are also responsible to our colleagues?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover has-background-dim\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" class=\"wp-block-cover__image-background wp-image-610\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/B6614708-ABA2-4512-9585-C3A7247D59B8_1_105_c.jpeg\" data-object-fit=\"cover\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/B6614708-ABA2-4512-9585-C3A7247D59B8_1_105_c.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/ecec\/files\/2021\/10\/B6614708-ABA2-4512-9585-C3A7247D59B8_1_105_c-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><div class=\"wp-block-cover__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-cover-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong class=\"\"><em class=\"\">&#8220;Every breath that you take is a breath that was made for you by plants&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><em class=\"\">(Kimmerer, 2019).&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In Gratitude and Kindness, <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chelsea<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong class=\"\"><em class=\"\">References:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><em class=\"\">Bioneers [Bioneers].
