{"id":187,"date":"2012-05-25T16:28:22","date_gmt":"2012-05-25T23:28:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/limi\/?page_id=187"},"modified":"2017-01-26T09:46:53","modified_gmt":"2017-01-26T17:46:53","slug":"anth-award","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/limi\/extras\/anth-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthropology Club Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two awards of $500 will be made available during the spring semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">DEADLINE<\/span>:\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800000\">February 15, 2017 (12 noon)<\/span><\/strong>, to Dr. Colleen McVeigh, Chair<\/p>\n<p><strong>Criteria:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>anthropology major in third or fourth year of study<\/li>\n<li>minimum B average<\/li>\n<li>meet the enrolment requirements as specified in the calendar under <a title=\"Financial Aid\" href=\"http:\/\/www.viu.ca\/FinancialAid\/about.asp\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Eligibility for Scholarships, Awards, and Bursaries&#8221;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>demonstrated financial need, e.g., single parent, working two jobs, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students who wish to be considered for this award must submit their application with a <strong>300-word statement<\/strong>.\u00a0 In their statement, they should address the question <strong>&#8220;How will you use anthropology in your career?&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0 In addition, students should elaborate on their financial need.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE:<\/strong> Preference will be given to first time recipients.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.viu.ca\/limi\/files\/2012\/05\/ASC_Award-appl_2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">2017 ASC Application<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>(pdf)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two awards of $500 will be made available during the spring semester.
