Ethnographic Studies II<\/h1>\n

Immersion in an experiential field study<\/strong>, Canada or abroad, provides opportunity to apply anthropological knowledge and analytical frameworks. The course typically includes site visits, observation, in-field data collection and seminars (day and\/or evening). Advance sessions and readings will provide background on the topic and setting before the field study.
\nCounts towards anthropology major in category 1 \u2013 Ethnographic and Archaeological Research.
\nPrerequisite: ANTH 111, ANTH 112, ANTH 211, and third-year standing; and\/or permission of the instructor.
\nNOTE:<\/strong> Even though a student may have the prerequisites, the individual is still subject to approval by the instructor as field schools have an application and interview process.<\/em><\/p>\n

For May 2015, the field school will be in Italy and taught in collaboration with Chef Debbie Shore, Culinary Institute of VI.<\/p>\n
