Deep Bay Marine Field Station – Summer 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Outreach\/Public Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Full time work during Summer of 2025. Responsible for animal care (feeding and handling, for example), aquarium maintenance, and overall marine station organization and clean up in order to prepare the station to for visitors and field trips. Topics of classroom activities included “Amazing Adaptations” and the “Perils of Plastic”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worked on improving exhibits such as the Tropical Shell Collection by adding a map with their locations and colour coding their respective identification tags.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Public Educator, I guided and instructed the visitors throughout the marine station, highlighting its research on bivalve (molluscs with two shells) aquaculture, as well as the ecology of marine invertebrates – specially the ones in the touch tanks. As opportunities arose, I often brought specimens to the microscope station!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
