Week 33

August 14th // Potting The Plants

Cultural Activity
The students potted the poinsettias in 6″ pots and transferred the plants to benches 3 and 4 of Zone 4 in the greenhouse.

Details: We received the 1200 plugs on Thursday of last week. We kept them well watered, in flood trays and stored in the header house for the weekend. The students very effectively potted, organized and watered the plants with an energetic enthusiast despite the heat wave.
There was traces of Pythium root rot on some plants, but nothing to worry about, especially in the hot and dry weather we are currently experiencing.
