In this podcast, Paige Fisher (Faculty of Education) reflects on her process of transitioning online, paying close attention to the ways in which she and her partner teachers build community for their students. Paige discusses how she builds a sense of agency for students by trusting them and bringing them into her process, as well as by blurring the lines between teaching and learning. Finally, we talk about tips for collecting feedback from students on course design and the role that authenticity and collaboration play in supporting this transition.

Thank you for creating this podcast! Paige, you and your colleagues are working on so many exciting and meaningful projects. The ‘3:30 staff room chats’ are a wonderful way to connect teachers, students, and instructors. In the Early Childhood program we started exploring online ‘Lunch/time conversations’ and it has been a great way to open that space to connect with educators and students. Listening to you reminded me of the importance of building community, thank you! Antje
