CIEL 2025 Teaching and Learning Conference – Showcase Series

The Centre for Innovation and Excellence in Learning (CIEL) invites you to the Teaching and Learning Conference – Showcase Series. The Showcase Series consists of roundtable discussions on Community as Pedagogy, Truth and Reconciliation, Sustainability, and Digital Literacy. At each roundtable discussion, faculty members from different disciplines will share their work followed by discussion on the impacts on teaching and learning.

This year, the conference offers a flexible format. To accommodate varied schedules, hybrid sessions will be held on different days and times throughout May 2025. Recordings will be available on the CIEL blog the following week for those unable to attend.

Roundtables

Community as Pedagogy: Thursday, May 1 | 1:00–2:30 PM

Community as Pedagogy explores how relationships and collaborative approaches enhance teaching and learning experiences.

GenAI @ VIU: In Conversation Podcast

The CIEL will also launch a new podcast series as part of the CIEL Teaching and Learning Conference Showcase Series, GenAI @ VIU: In Conversation. This podcast series will feature short discussions with faculty and students exploring the impact and experiences of using GenAI at VIU.
