Errors When Logging in to VIULearn and Zoom

Users are currently unable to login to VIULearn and Zoom through Single Sign On.  IT is working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.

Until our regular login process is restored, users can sign in to VIULearn using their usual credentials at https://learn.viu.ca/d2l/login?noRedirect=1

Employees who created their Zoom account prior to March 17, 2020 can log in to Zoom using their email address and Zoom password. If you created your account on or after March 17, 2020 please contact learnsupport@viu.ca for assistance.

Zoom Minimum Version Now Enforced

Hosts and participants in Zoom meetings will now need to have at least version 5.7 of the Zoom application in order to join a Zoom meeting. Download the latest version of Zoom at https://zoom.us/download.

If you do not have this version already installed, you will be prompted to update your client when you try to join a meeting and will need to wait for the update to complete before entering the meeting.

VIUTube System Maintenance June 26-28

VIUTube will be unavailable from Saturday, June 26th at 5:00am to Monday, June 28th at 8:00am PT while the system undergoes planned maintenance. During this outage window, users will be unable to access VIUTube or VIUTube media and Kaltura Personal Capture recordings cannot be uploaded.

We ask that all users avoid trying to access the service or upload content through Personal Capture over the weekend. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have questions or concerns, please contact learnsupport@vu.ca.

VIUTube Not Available

VIUTube is not currently available due to an outage on BCNet’s EduCloud server. Users may see an error when trying to access VIUTube or experience the page not loading. Embedded videos will not play at this time.

We do not currently have an estimated time of resolution, but technicians are working on finding and resolving the underlying issue. Thank you for your patience.

VIUTube Service Restored

The underlying problem preventing VIUTube media from processing has been resolved and users can begin uploading media again as usual. Users may see a slight delay this afternoon as the backlog of uploaded media is processed. Thank you for your patience.

VIUTube Processing Delays

There is currently an issue preventing VIUTube videos from being processed after upload. We recommend not uploading videos to VIUTube at this time. Videos upload on or after April 5, 2021 may be affected. Please retain any source files for uploaded media until this issue is resolved.

The problem has been reported to our vendor who is investigating. At this time we do not have an estimated time for resolution. If you have any questions, please email learnsupport@viu.ca. We apologize for the inconvenience.

VIUTube Service Restored

VIUTube service has been restored. Media can now be uploaded as normal. Media that was uploaded between 11:30 pm March 17 and 10:30 am March 18 may not appear in your My Media. We are currently investigating this challenge. Thank you for your patience.

VIUTube Media Not Appearing

We are currently seeing a challenge where new media uploads on VIUTube are not showing up in My Media as expected. When uploading media content, please use the Go to Media link and copy your media URL before navigating away. Our service provider is currently investigating. As long as you have the URL for your media, you should be able to view and share as normal. We apologize for the inconvenience.
