The following students must contact their instructor immediately to receive the advise on appropriate course to register and, if the instructor decides, must take a placement test in order to register the course.

Students whose parent (or parents) is a native speaker of Japanese

Students who have studied Japanese at other institutions but do not have transfer credits

Students who have studied Japanese with private tutors or on their own

Students who have lived in Japan for one year or longer
