Professional Service

As time permits, I have taken on numerous leadership roles in various volunteer capacities to serve the sport I love.  Following are a selection of examples:

From 2002-04 I served as the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association Women’s Volleyball National Convener.  My main duties included overseeing communication between the Conferences in the CCAA and the National Championships host institution, and to provide support to the host committee at the National Championship as the representative of the CCAA.

In the winter of 2008, I traveled to Belize for a four month sabbatical.  In addition to volunteering at a local school in San Pedro, I had the opportunity to run several training sessions on behalf of the Belize Volleyball Federation in Belize City.

I served on the Board of Directors of Volleyball BC from 2011-16, and the High Performance Committee from 2011-17.  During this time, I played a significant role in the creation of the Association’s Strategic Plans for 2012-15 and 2016-19.

MARINERS VOLLEYBALL CLUB – NANAIMO, BC.

I am currently the Director and Head Coach for all Beach Programs and a member of the Technical Committee of the Mariners Volleyball Club in Nanaimo, BC.   As a founding and current Board member and Coach, I am very proud of the vibrant, sustainable Club that we have established in Central Vancouver Island.  MVC is one of the largest Volleyball Clubs in British Columbia, which operates approximately 20 competitive indoor teams annually for boys and girls for ages U13-U25, as well as a house league for U14 and U16 female athletes. MVC also runs numerous Fall and Winter programs supporting skill acquisition and development for younger athletes from Grade 3-7.

My primary focus as of 2022, is the responsibility of all MVC Beach programs, which has both train and play and high performance streams for multiple age groups.

In 2019, I was recognized at the Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards as the “Sport Administrator of the Year”.
