VIUBlogs Scheduled Maintenance – Feb 11, 8:30-12:30

VIUBlogs will be undergoing scheduled maintenance on Friday, February 11, 2022. In order to avoid losing any work, please refrain from making changes to any VIUBlogs sites between 8:30 am and 12:30 pm. The VIUBlogs platform will  be completely unavailable for up to two hours during this maintenance window.  

VIULearn Challenge with Hotmail.com Email is Ongoing

Students who have Hotmail.com email addresses may continue not to receive email sent from VIULearn to their Hotmail email account. Our vendor is working to identify and resolve the underlying challenge. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Students with Hotmail.com email addresses may not be receiving system generated notification, assignment submission confirmation emails, and emails sent from other users from within VIULearn.

If you are an instructor who emails students through the Classlist tool in VIULearn, please consider sending any emails to your students from Outlook or through the Email Classlist function in the Student Record System.

Access to Discover, VIULearn’s self-registration tool, has been restored. Users should be able to view and register for courses through Discover as usual.

Students with Hotmail.com email addresses may not be receiving system generated notification, assignment submission confirmation emails, and emails sent from other users from within VIULearn.

VIULearn Discover Self Registration Currently Unavailable, & VIULearn Emails Not Delivered to Hotmail Email Addresses

VIULearn Discover Tool

Discover, VIULearn’s self-registration tool, is currently unavailable. Courses will not load and using the search feature results in a 404 error. Users cannot currently register in courses through the Discover tool.

Our vendor is aware of this issue and is working to resolve it. Please watch this space for updates. If possible, please wait for a resolution before registering in Discover courses.

If users urgently need to register in Discover courses, please contact learnsupport@viu.ca or the owner of the specific course to request access.

Scheduled Maintenance Wednesday September 11

We are pleased to report all systems are stable.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2019, the IT department will be performing a monthly update that will prevent on campus access to VIULearn, VIUTube, and VIUBlogs for up to 15 minutes at a time during the maintenance windows. Maintenance is scheduled from 6:00 am to 7:30 am and from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. For more information please see https://viu-it.statuspage.io/.

Users who are accessing our systems from home may experience challenges logging in if attempting to sign in during the maintenance window.

Challenges with VIULearn in Chrome Browser

At this time we are experiencing a challenge that is preventing system dialogues and pop-ups from behaving as expected in VIULearn when using Google Chrome. If you are experiencing challenges with VIULearn at this time, please switch to another supported, modern browser (such as Firefox, Edge, Safari or Opera). We apologize for any inconvenience.
