UPDATE: VIULearn Some Services Delayed or Not Available

We are seeing some improvements to VIULearn loading and functionality, but users may still experience slower than normal loading times and challenges seeing course tiles in My Courses. The VIULearn ePortfolio tool may also experience intermittent challenges.

To access your courses when the My Courses area does not load, please use the Course Selector icon in the upper right navigation bar.

Our vendor is continuing to work on resolving these challenges. If you have any questions or concerns, please email learnsupport@viu.ca or call 250-740-6179.

VIULearn Some Services Delayed or Unavailable

Course images and banners may not load for all users at this time. If you do not see your course tiles under My Courses, please use the course selector icon (the waffle icon in the upper right) to access your courses. You may see an error on the course homepage where you normally see a banner.

Users may also experience slower than usual loading times for some parts of VIULearn at this time. This may cause challenges with uploading and viewing assignments and with completing quizzes. If possible, please postpone these activities until the issue is resolved.

Our vendor is currently working to resolve this issue and will have full service restored as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have questions or concerns, please contact us at learnsupport@viu.ca or call 250-740-6179.

VIULearn: Notification Emails Are Blocked for Hotmail Users

Hotmail is currently blocking Assignment Submission email confirmations and other email notifications sent from learnsupport@d2l.viu.ca as Hotmail believes these email notifications are spam. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We are currently working with our vendor to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if users have an alternative email address and domain that they would like to receive notifications to instead, they can edit their notification preferences by clicking their Profile Icon in the upper right hand corner and navigating to the Notifications preference screen.

More information about editing and changing your email and notification preferences can be found on our website here: https://ciel.viu.ca/pages/account-settings-and-notifications

Users can also view any notifications that they have received by logging into VIULearn and clicking the Notification Bell at the top of the screen.
